These terms govern the use of www.brasenoze.co.uk and the services provided by Brasenoze. By requesting a quote, submitting an enquiry, or using our recovery service, you agree to these terms. Quotes are indicative and subject to vehicle condition verification on collection. Payment is made on collection and a Certificate of Destruction is issued within 7 days.

1. About us

Brasenoze operates from 14 Brasenose Road, Bootle, Liverpool, L20 8HG. We operate a licensed Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) for end-of-life vehicles and provide used parts and 24/7 vehicle recovery services.

2. Scrap car quotes

Quotes provided through our online form are indicative and based on the vehicle specifications returned by our VRM lookup provider and the condition details you provide. The final price is confirmed on collection, subject to the vehicle matching the described condition.

We may adjust the price if: the engine does not run (deduction applies), the vehicle does not roll freely, locking wheel nuts are present and no key is provided, or the vehicle is a hybrid or electric vehicle (manual quote required).

3. Collection and payment

Collection is free within our service area (Liverpool, Merseyside, Wirral, Chester, and surrounding areas). We aim to collect same-day or within 48 hours of booking, subject to availability.

Payment is made on collection by bank transfer, as required by the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013. The price quoted is the price paid, provided the vehicle matches the described condition.

4. Certificate of Destruction

We issue a DVLA Certificate of Destruction (CoD) within 7 days of collecting your vehicle. The CoD is your legal proof that the vehicle has been scrapped at a licensed ATF. If you do not receive your CoD within 7 days, contact us and we will reissue it.

5. Used parts

All used parts sold by Brasenoze are sourced from vehicles we have dismantled at our own yard. Parts are fitment-checked and backed by a warranty as stated on the part listing. If a part is found to be faulty or incorrectly fitmented, contact us within the warranty period for a replacement or refund.

6. Vehicle recovery

Our 24/7 vehicle recovery service is available nationwide. Recovery costs are quoted over the phone based on distance, vehicle type, and time of day. Payment for recovery is due on completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.

7. Your responsibilities

When scrapping a vehicle, you must: be the registered keeper or have written authorisation from the registered keeper, provide the V5C logbook (or notify us if it is lost), and ensure the vehicle is accessible for collection. You are responsible for cancelling your insurance and road tax after collection.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the value of the transaction or £500, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of use of a vehicle, travel costs, or loss of earnings.

This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
